It was just before Mother's Day in an inner city, primarily Hispanic school in Dallas. A present for mom.
On Sunday my Mom takes me fishing
We go down to Galveston Bay
We catch catfish and shrimp with a line and a hook
and eat them for dinner that day.
On Monday she makes me Tamales
with pollo and salsa and beans
and Tuesday she takes the whole day off
while she rhymes enchiladas with cheese
One Mother's day just isn't enough
I can't wait 'till May to say I love her so much
She's the best Mom in the whole universe
and I'll tell you more about her in the very next verse
Wednesday and Thursday and Friday
She works at the Taqueria in town
She takes me to the movies in the afternoon
Oh, I sure do love her - and how
One Mother's day just isn't enough
I can't wait 'till May to say I love her so much
She's the best Mom in the whole universe
I told you all about her in the previous verse
Yes she's the best Mom in the whole universe
Yes she's the best Mom in the whole universe
